Tucson Team Brings the Spirit of Giving to AACM’s CANstruction Event

At CCMC, community and creativity go hand in hand—and our Tucson team proved just that during the Arizona Association of Community Managers (AACM) and CHDB Law’s annual Open Doors CANstruction event, held on Friday, April 11, 2025.

This unique event invites teams to build imaginative sculptures entirely out of non-perishable canned good

s, all of which are donated to a local charity afterward. Judged by children from the Pappas Kids Schoolhouse Foundation, the event is as heartwarming as it is inspiring.

Bringing a Donut to Life—With a Purpose

Thanks to generous support from fifteen incredible sponsors, our team was able to purchase over 3,000 cans and the materials needed to construct a whimsical and dynamic donut sculpture. Special recognition goes out to BrightView Landscapes for their hands-on work in helping bring the sculpture to life!

Our creative and collaborative effort earned us the award for Most Non-Perishable Items—a testament to the heart and hustle our team poured into this project.

A Celebration of Community and Kindness

“This year’s CANstruction was a labor of love from our team,” shared Vanessa Lopez, a member of Team Tucson. “We were thrilled to have Gladden Farms host the event at our premier dog park, Paws N Claws. A few residents even stopped by to catch a glimpse of our build in action and share in the excitement!”

The cans were all donated to the Pappas Kids Schoolhouse Foundation, a nonprofit that supports at-risk youth through education and resources. Giving back is more than a moment—it’s a mission we live every day at CCMC.

Thank You to Our Partners

We extend heartfelt thanks to AACM, CHDB Law, and all of our sponsors for making this memorable day possible. Your generosity made a real difference; we couldn’t have done it without you.

Our hearts—and shelves—were full this weekend, and we couldn’t be prouder to be part of a community that gives so generously.
